As I talk with people and share with them about how much I love all of my essential oils, people naturally ask me about diffusers. I recommend ultrasonic diffusers, which hold some water and a few drops of your favorite essential oils then use ultrasonic movement to produce a vapor that fills your room with wonderful smells and delivers the beneficial powers of the oils to everyone in your house. :) The great thing about an ultrasonic diffuser versus a warming diffuser is that they don’t break down the beneficial powers of the essential oils through heat.
So naturally, people ask me what kind of diffuser do I use? Well, I use two different kinds:
My favorite is the ZAQ Mirage LiteMist Diffuser (Affiliate link). It holds enough water to run for well over eight hours, produces a powerful mist, and has several light therapy functions: a rainbow color cycle, ability to freeze on a single color and no light at all. We use it in the bedroom while sleeping. While it has the multi-light functions, it only offers a single continuous stream. Tip: my favorite sleep diffuser recipe is 2 drops each of Vetiver, Ylang Ylang and the Calming Blend. Combined, these three oils help clear my mind and relax me enough to sleep better than I’ve ever slept with any sleeping pill.
I also use the Aroma Ready Oil Humidifying and Ultrasonic Diffuser (Affiliate link). It holds enough water for about 4 hours worth of continuous vapor. It also offers an intermittent stream function of 15 seconds on and 15 seconds off, but no light therapy. I actually have two of these. One I use at work everyday with the intermittent stream function. The second one is usually either in my living room or staying at a trust-worthy friend’s house to enjoy for a week or two. Tip: my favorite work diffuser recipe is two drops each of wild orange and peppermint. The peppermint is invigorating and helps me focus on whatever the task at hand, while the wild orange keeps me in a positive mood. Positivity and focus are the two most important things for me to keep working smoothly, at least until I can blog for a living right?
Because three diffusers clearly are not enough, I have my eye on another diffuser to try so I can have a permanent living room diffuser. After a bunch of research, I want to next try the QUOOZ Lull Ultrasonic Diffuser (Affiliate Link). It seems to be similar to the Zaq Mirage above, but with a smaller foot-print, and oh so pretty, right? I’ll let you know what I think of it.
What diffusers do you use and what are your favorite diffuser recipes?
