Essential oils are great ways to replace chemical-laden products in your everyday life with natural alternatives. But with so many to choose from, how do you know what are the best Essential Oils for Skincare? It can seem overwhelming, but I want to help make it easier for you. By making your own skincare products, you control the ingredients and the quality of those ingredients you put on your face and body.
If you have a question about the brand of essential oils I use, send me an inquiry here. Due to policy regulations, I am not allowed to tell you directly. I promise to only answer your questions and WILL NOT pester you with newsletters and sales gimmicks. I honestly don’t have the time to be a multi-level marketing guru.
Now back to skincare. Essential oils, along with other quality carrier ingredients, can be used to make many products at home yourself: oil cleansers, body wash, salves, lotions, lotion bars, scrubs, lip balm, deodorants, sunscreen, bronzer sticks and countless more.
Carrier Ingredients acts as a medium to dilute and help “carry” the essential oils into your system. They provide a way for you to improve products you already use every day with the many benefits of topically applied essential oils. Carrier ingredients commonly used in most diy skincare products are: coconut oil, butters, carrier oils, salts and waxes. Combined in different ratios, these carrier ingredients will make a medium that ranges from liquids to meltable solids.
*A note on QUALITY*
Make sure you are using quality carrier ingredients in their purest forms possible. That means locally sourced, organic, free of pesticides and preservatives, expeller or cold pressed, and unrefined or raw. These products are more expensive than their less pure counterparts, but they will go a long way when you consider they are only one ingredient to make the final product. That means savings in the long term. Check out specific recipes I will have in future posts.
